Creativity is embedded in everyone, especially artists, whether through different perspectives or imagination, there is always a human lens when looking at media. However, with the constant advancements of these AI models which generate visuals when given a prompt to continue to circulate the art world, it’s easy to think how this machine could take over your job– producing paintings, images, music instead of humans. But there’s a catch: no large language machine, like Gemini or ChatGPT, is capable of creating without human input. Knowing this, it can be used as a tool rather than thought as a replacement, allowing for an expansion of creative possibilities towards artists who may see this tool as a source of collaboration. Of course, artists should be seen responsible when using AI as it feeds from its baseline up and if used unethically, it could damage its evolution as a tool. It is not necessarily a mandatory platform to use as an artist, though regardless, learning how it works to support your work is helpful to know whether or not you decide to use it.
it's not a replacement,
it's a collaboration tool.
